Jain Passengers Accuse Air India Of Serving Non-Vegetarian Meals Despite Prior Notice

Air India is getting a major facelift after TATA took over the airlines. And while we have heard great things about the revamped Air India now, some Jain passengers raise a complaint that the airline served them non-vegetarian meals despite prior notice. A passengers’ tweet is going viral on social media. He wrote, The staff members didn’t check the meal before serving it to us and gave us non-veg food. They didn’t even apologize.”

To ensure smooth and hassle-free services, Air India has issued a set of fresh guidelines for its cabin crew. As per the new guidelines, the cabin crew members have been told to put on minimum jewellery to avoid delays at security checks and customs. Also, they have been told not to visit duty free shops and head directly to the boarding gates after the completion of immigration and security checks. To quicken the passenger boarding and seating process, the cabin crew members have been told not to have food or beverages before or during the process. As issued by the executive director of Air India for inflight services, Vasudha Chandna, the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cabin crews are as follows:

1. Minimum Jewellery

The cabin crew members have been told to put on minimum jewellery to avoid delays at security checks and customs.

2. No Visit To Duty Free Shops

To avoid flight delays, the cabin crew have been told not to visit duty free shops and head directly to the boarding gates after the completion of immigration and security checks.

3. No Eating Or Drinking Before Passenger Boarding Process

To quicken the passenger boarding and seating process, the cabin crew members have been told not to have food or beverages before or during the process.

4. Closing The Aircraft Door Right After Boarding Process

The cabin crew members must ensure not to delay in shutting the aircraft door right after the completion of the boarding process.

5. PPE Kits Mandatory For Crew Members Onboard

All members must wear PPE kits after they board the flights.

6. Complete Mandatory Checks On Or Before Time

The members have been told to complete all the mandatory checks on or before time.

7. Movement Of Crew To MCO

The crew members need to head to the movement control office (MCO) after they are done with the check-in formalities. They must proceed towards the airline within time, irrespective of the arrival of the flight commander.
