AlUla Receives Certificate From Destinations International
Ever since AlUla opened to visitors about four years ago, it has emerged as a premier tourism destination for people in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Not to mention, as it’s bolstered by year-round events and top hospitality options, it certainly underlines the destination’s progress. Yes, as revealed by the Saudi Press Agency in its recent report, it was mentioned that it has now become the first Middle Eastern destination to receive accreditation from Destinations International. It’s worth mentioning that this certification is a part of the destination marketing accreditation programme, which benchmarks quality and professionalism. In fact, the accreditation comes just a year after AlUla joined Destinations International.
Significance Of This Award
As it happens, this is a significant milestone for AlUla, as it reaffirms the efforts of the tourism industry in the country, which is ensuring the highest standards. In case you weren’t aware, AlUla has met more than 100 performance standards. These include government, stakeholder engagement, financial management, and destination development. The standards have been set by an independent committee that comprises industry experts. Yes, and they are periodically updated to reflect evolving best practices in the sector.
However, it’s not the first time that AlUla has received an impressive aboard! Back in May, this destination was named the leading cultural tourism project and the Middle East, for the second time in a year. This destination was also recognised as the leading festival and event destination in the Middle East. The recognition was awarded for the best pioneering cultural tourism project in the kingdom for 2024.
So, as AlUla continues to leave people enthralled with its surroundings and exciting activities to offer, these awards certainly prove that AlUla is like no other destination.
