Delhi v/s Mumbai conversations never get old! It was quite evident there were going to be discussions about this when Ashneer Grover joined our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani for this insightful episode of Sunday Brunch. The Mumbai/Delhi debate ranges from food and tiny houses to mannerisms, rent and more. But if you know our guest well, then you know he is a true Delhiite and enjoys visiting Mumbai for work.
Ashneer Grover’s Time In Mumbai Was An Entirely Different Experience
Ashneer hails from the national capital but right after his marriage, he and his wife, Madhuri Jain Grover, moved to Mumbai for work. He told us that living in Mumbai was a great bonding period for them. Interaction in Mumbai is minimal and everyone remains an acquaintance rather than a friend.
However, you do find some friendly people in the City of Dreams. But if you grew up in Delhi, you do feel out of place when you move to Mumbai and that is exactly what happened with Ashneer. If you are from Delhi and lived in Mumbai then you will relate to what he told us next.
He talked about how the houses are so confined that after a while it seems as if the walls close in on you!

Delhi Called Him Back Soon
Continuing on the topic of Delhi v/s Mumbai, Ashneer revealed that they stayed there for two years and that was enough. He wanted to move to Delhi even though Mumbai welcomed him. He didn’t think he belonged there. When he received a wonderful work opportunity in Delhi, he grabbed it quickly and moved back to Delhi.
Currently, Ashneer resides in The Camellias, Gurugram, one of the richest buildings in Delhi-NCR. Many startup entrepreneurs own a residence here and Asheer thinks they are just saving their taxes but he is one of them as well!
