Assam May Host This Year’s Filmfare Awards To Boost Tourism

We all have been floored by the gorgeous Assam Tourism advertisements featuring Priyanka Chopra. If you feel those picturesque ads inspired you to visit this breath-taking state, then wait till you hear this. The State government of Assam has pumped in a massive Rs. 300 crore to boost the tourism sector in the Assam Budget 2019. And as a part of promoting Assam as a global tourist destination, the State government is planning to organize the Filmfare Awards ceremony in Guwahati.

What Else?

The most significant and oldest award function in India since 1954, Filmfare Awards honors the artists and technicians for their excellent contribution in the Hindi film industry (Bollywood). The awards are voted by both the public and a committee of experts. So the glitz and glamour of Bollywood might soon reach the beautiful state of Assam thanks to the Filmfare Awards.

The Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal also took to Twitter and other social media platforms to announce the sanction of Rs. 300 crore for Assam Tourism and also dwelled on the possibility of hosting the prestigious Filmfare Awards in the glorious city of Guwahati for the first time. So we’re looking forward towards getting to know the spell-bounding state of Assam better courtesy the Filmfare Awards.
