Jatayu is now in Ayodhya! The temple town has now launched — Jatayu— a new cruise service on Saryu river. State Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh inaugurated this new cruise service on Friday. This cruise will ferry passengers from Naya Ghat to Guptar Ghat, a distance of 18 km. The voyage carrying around 70 passengers on board will take 1.5 to 2 hours. So, why must you embark on a short journey on the Jatayu cruise in Ayodhya? Let’s tell you why.

Ramayan-Themed Jatayu Cruise Offers Tourists A Rich Experience

Jatayu cruise is an air-conditioned two-floor ship. Spanning 45 feet in length and 15 feet in width, this ship was built in Gujarat. It was later brought to Delhi and then to Ayodhya. The Ramayan-themed cruise will get passengers in the spirit of India’s beloved epic. The hull of the ship has beautifully painted imagery of Lord Ram, Lakshman, Maa Sita, Hanuman and other episodes from the epic.

During this alluring journey, passengers will watch a short film about Lord Ram and Ayodhya. It will educate passengers about the rich history of the temple town. The tickets for the round trip between Naya Ghat and Guptar Ghat will cost ₹300 per person. The Jayatu cruise’s first trip will start as early as 4:30 am and end at 6:30 am. The second trip will take place from 11 am to 1 pm. The third from 4 pm to 6 pm. And the last from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Short Film, Refreshments & More

The cruise staff will offer more insights to passengers about the rich history of the ghats. Jaiveer Singh revealed to Hindustan Times that passengers will be given refreshments. The managing director of Ayodhya Cruise Lines Pvt Limited, Rahul Sharma, states that tourists can expect other cruise services after Jatayu. This includes ‘Garud’ which will come next month. By the end of the year, another cruise service, ‘Pushpak Viman’ with a seating capacity of 150 will also be launched.

Tourists embarking on a voyage on Jatayu can expect a culturally rich voyage across the waters of river Saryu. They can soak in the splendour of the ancient city and also experience relaxation from a tiring day of sightseeing.
