Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the temple, expressing his gratitude towards the values of harmony, peace, and tolerance shared by both India and the UAE. He hailed the temple as a cultural addition to the UAE’s identity, alongside its renowned landmarks like the Burj Khalifa and Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
During the inauguration, PM Modi paid homage by offering water in the virtual Ganga and Yamuna rivers within the temple premises, followed by prayers inside. He highlighted the temple’s significance as a beacon of unity and harmony, praising the assistance provided by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in its construction.
PM Modi’s connection with Pramukh Swami Maharaj likened to a father-son relationship, underscored the depth of his appreciation for the temple’s completion. He also took the opportunity to meet with volunteers and key contributors involved in the construction process, further emphasising the collaborative effort behind this remarkable achievement.

As celebrations unfold in Abu Dhabi to commemorate the consecration of the Hindu temple, notable Bollywood personalities like Akshay Kumar, Vivek Oberoi, Shankar Mahadevan, and others have graced the occasion with their presence.
Shankar Mahadevan, the renowned singer-composer, expressed his delight at the inauguration of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi. He hailed it as a moment of immense joy for India and its global diaspora. He praised the grandeur and spiritual essence of the temple. Also, he credited its realisation to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Amid stringent security measures, Akshay Kumar was captured arriving at the BAPS Hindu Mandir premises. He was spotted radiating happiness at its grand opening. The actor shared his enthusiasm for the event, emphasising the significance of Abu Dhabi’s first Hindu temple. Vivek Oberoi, reflecting on his involvement in the historic event, described the temple as exquisitely beautiful. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to its construction through service.

Dilip Joshi, also among the esteemed guests, marvelled at the splendour of the BAPS temple. This recalls his presence during its foundation stone laying ceremony by PM Modi. He commended the generosity of Dubai’s Ruler for providing the land and permissions for its construction. Also, he expressed hope that the temple would promote harmony worldwide.
Madhur Bhandarkar, another prominent attendee, conveyed his happiness and appreciation to the UAE Ruler. He regarded the event as a proud and cherished moment for the entire Indian community residing in the region.

Sitting majestically on a 27-acre expanse in Abu Mureikhah, the BAPS Hindu Mandir is a testament to unity and faith. Settled near Al Rahba off the Dubai-Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zayed Highway the space was generously donated by the UAE government. The foundation stone was laid in 2019, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey.
This sprawling architectural wonder boasts a prayer hall capable of accommodating 3,000 devotees. Also, it includes a community centre, an exhibition hall, a library, and a delightful children’s park. The temple is adorned with meticulously crafted ghats and symbolic features of the revered Ganga and Yamuna rivers. This offers the temple tranquillity and spirituality.
At its heart lie two magnificent domes – the ‘Dome of Harmony’ and the ‘Dome of Peace’. It exudes a sense of serenity and unity. It welcomes visitors with eight idols at the entrance, representing the foundational values of Sanatana Dharma. Overall, it invites all to embrace its teachings.
Within its sacred precincts, the temple houses seven shrines, each dedicated to deities from different corners of India. It symbolises the rich cultural tapestry of the nation. Notably, the BAPS Mandir has garnered numerous accolades. It includes the titles of Best Mechanical Project of the Year 2019 and Best Interior Design Concept of the Year 2020. Overall, this underscores its architectural brilliance and cultural significance.
