Bengaluru: BBMP Bans The Sale Of Meat & Non-Veg Food In Yelahanka On These 26 Days; Here’s Why

Bengaluru’s Yelahanka is all set to host the much-awaited Aero India Show in February. In view of the high-profile event, to make grand arrangements for the same, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) announced a complete ban on selling meat and non-vegetarian food near the Yelahanka Airforce Station. Here’s Why BBMP Banned The Sale Of Meat & Non-Veg Food In Yelahanka

Ahead of the 15th edition of the Aero India Show, the Bengaluru civic body imposed a strict ban on all stalls, hotels, and restaurants selling and serving all kinds of non-vegetarian food. The order will come into action within a 13 km radius of the Yelahanka Airforce Station. It will remain effective from January 23 to February 17. The primary reason behind the prohibition of selling and serving non-veg food in this area is the grand Aero India Show.

BBMP issued a directive already stating all the necessary information about this crucial ban. The body notified the public, meat stall proprietors, fish sellers, non-vegetarian hotels, and restaurants about the ban in the mentioned 13 km area in Yelahanka. The officials prohibited non-veg sales for 26 days to avoid unnecessary littering nearby. Often, scavenger birds fly around for these small food pieces scattered on the ground. To avoid any accidents due to birds, non-veg food has been banned.

This Rule Needs To Be Followed Strictly

BBMP asked everyone to follow the guidelines properly. Otherwise, any violation of this strict rule “will attract punishment under BBMP Act 2020 and Indian Aircraft rules 1937 rule 91.”

Yelahanka Airforce Station will host Asia’s largest show on February 10. Slated to continue till February 14, the Department of Defense Production of the Defense Ministry will conduct the event. According to a report by Hindustan Times, business visitors will attend the Aero India Show on its first three days. The last two days are reserved for the general public to enjoy the magnificence of the arrangements.
