Traffic management can be difficult, especially during peak hours. We often take the work of traffic police for granted, even though they constantly guide traffic and make sure every lane moves smoothly in scorching heat, rain or winter. Bengaluru Traffic Police Brings Back ‘Cop For The Day’

Taking to their social media handle, the Bengaluru Traffic Police once again introduced the “Cop for the Day” initiative. As per Hindustan Times, under this programme, Bengaluru residents will get to spend a day with traffic police personnel and understand their responsibilities. Participants will get to experience how traffic is managed on busy roads and understand the challenges officers face while keeping vehicles and pedestrians moving.

With this announcement, the Bengaluru Traffic Police invited residents to step into their shoes. If you want to take part, you can register through the BTP ASTraM app. The programme will also let you experience traffic management firsthand and share your thoughts and suggestions with the traffic police.

How Applicants Will Be Selected?

Once you’re done applying to the programme, applicants will be selected after the police review their registrations. According to Hindustan Times, this will not only help residents understand the police’s work but also give traffic police an opportunity to understand how citizens experience Bengaluru’s roads. Their feedback could help the department identify ways to improve traffic management and make roads safer and more efficient.

This initiative was launched in 2025 as well, and people participated actively at the time. People have once again welcomed the initiative, appreciating the idea of getting to experience a day like a traffic cop.
