The ferry service between Bhayandar and Vasai has been awaited for quite some time now. It will finally soon commence operations. Once it begins, it will offer a more efficient and faster mode of transportation. Since the service is new, it will first begin operations on an experimental basis only. Bhayandar-Vasai Ferry Service: All You Need To Know
According to an article which was recently published by The Free Press Journal or the FPJ, the ferry services will commence from February 20, 2024, Tuesday. The roll-on roll-off or Ro-Ro service will be between Bhayandar and Vasai.
The vessels will be operated by Suvarnadurg Durg Marine And Shipping Services Private Limited. It is based in Ratnagiri and has a lot of experience in the ferry service industry. Since this is a new service, it will only begin on an experimental basis.
This trial will go on for three months. The aim behind this trial basis is primarily to hammer out any kinks or logistical issues that might arise at any point in the journey. Once the issues are cleared, the service will begin with full force.
Ticket Prices And Other Important Details About The Service
As of now, the tickets begin at ₹15. This is for children between three and twelve years of age. For people over the age of 12, the price is ₹30 per head. Tickets for animals like dogs, goats, and sheep, and for baskets of fruits, fish or hens, the price is ₹40.
For a motorcycle with a driver, the charge is ₹60. A ticket for a three-wheeler with a driver will cost you ₹100 and a four-wheeler with a driver will cost ₹180.
