Abu Dhabi imposed a new travel regulation for entering the emirate on Tuesday. The edict states that in order to enter the city, one must produce proof of booster injection. The UAE is experiencing a statewide increase in coronavirus infections, thanks to the novel highly transmissible strain Omicron. People in the UAE must now be completely vaccinated, including a booster dose. This is in order to keep the Green Pass status that allows them to visit Abu Dhabi. They can then escape periodic PCR testing.

Some people at the border were sent back over the weekend after refreshing Al Hosn. It was due to the app going grey. Those who had not received the booster had to take another PCR test in order to enter Abu Dhabi. The rule took effect at the beginning of the week. It only applies to those who have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine. The vaccine specifically includes Pfizer- BioNTech’s.

  1. One must present proof of booster injection in order to enter the Emirate.
  2. The Abu Dhabi government also stated that individuals must have tested ‘negative’ for the coronavirus within the previous two weeks.
  3. Residents must produce their green permit before visiting public locations or government facilities, according to the official announcement.

Are There Any Exemptions For People With No Booster To Enter Abu Dhabi?

You would need a Green Pass or a negative PCR test result of fewer than 96 hours to enter Abu Dhabi, according to the Al Hosn team.


“To receive a Green Pass, persons must be completely vaccinated. This includes a booster dose six months after your second dosage. And also a negative PCR test every 14 days,” they explained. Please be aware that in Abu Dhabi, the Green Pass is necessary to visit public areas.”

Who’s Eligible For Booster Dose?

If it’s been six months since your last shot, you’re eligible for a booster. Individuals with the Two Sinopharm vaccines had to take a booster. It was to maintain their Green Pass status.
