After Emirates suspended operations to a host of destinations, Abu Dhabi-based carrier Etihad Airways has now called off all flights inbound and outbound Abu Dhabi. The ban will be in place from today, for a period of 2 weeks, until 25 March. During this period, all transit flights are also suspended.
Over the last few weeks, in the face of closures and restrictions, our focus has been to bring the world home safely.

Etihad in a tweet further added that as the national airline of the UAE, the airline is in full support of the government’s efforts to limit the global spread of Coronavirus. The safety and good health of residents takes precedence over everything, the tweet read.

However, until then, Etihad will continue to operate as many flights as possible in order to bring families back together. The airline also added that it will continue to support the needs of passengers whose travel plans are put on hold.

Meanwhile, Etihad Cargo flights will continue to operate as normal. In case you’re scheduled to fly with Etihad Airways, or use the value of your ticket as credit towards your next trip. Travellers can rebook the trip to travel on or before 30 June 2020 or choose to fly to a different destination within a specified zone. However, you can only make one change to your booking. Alternatively, you can also cancel your booking and use the value as credit towards your next trip. Book before 30 September 2020, for travel until 30 April 2021.
