The final match of IPL 2023 was no way lesser than a thrilling movie. From massive rain spoiling the first day of the final to the match postponing to reserve day to the rain intervening the final once again on Monday to CSK winning the trophy in the very last ball of the over; it was a fantastically entertaining night! The sudden downpour on Sunday led to the cancellation of the much-awaited final of CSK vs GT and fans were very disheartened with the miserable situation. There was water all around the Narendra Modi Stadium and it was practically impossible to host the final that night!

Heavy Rainfall In Ahmedabad Over The Last Few Days!

Twitter user Vinay Kumar Dokania @VinayDokania took to the micro-blogging platform to share a video of the after-effects of rain in Ahmedabad. There was water all around the premises of the Narendra Modi Stadium and he shared the video mentioning it as “Waterfall At IPL Final”.

Nestled in Ahmedabad, the Narendra Modi Stadium is the largest cricket stadium in the world. With an accommodation facility of 1,32,000 spectators, this stadium is also popular for its world-class facilities and modern additions such as the installation of LED luminaires on the roof.

So many spectators rushed to IPL final venue to witness the intense final between CSK and GT on Sunday. Unfortunately, the match had to be called off due to the downpour in Ahmedabad. Here are some glimpses of rain being the major spoilsport of Sunday and just destroying all the major plans for the big night.

Sunday night looked scary because of the intense rainfall in Ahmedabad. Here’s a video of a massive downpour at the stadium shared by MSDFC Ahmedabad ™️ (@msdian.army7) on Instagram.

The match was postponed to Monday. Just after the second innings began the next day, the rain once again became a spoilsport. Post rainfall, the match continued with the DLS method implemented.
