Can Monsoon Affect Your Travel Plans? Here’s How To Plan Your Trip

We love the rains but they can sometimes play spoilsport for your travel plans. And, as you see Monsoons have officially arrived in India and it is all set to enter the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka by the first week of June. So, if you have travel plans, it is better if you carry umbrellas and get ready to experience some rain during your vacation.

Monsoon To Travel Through These Cities

Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Puducherry and Lakshadweep will experience light to moderate rainfall this week! Some parts of West Bengal and Sikkim as well will receive rainfall. And yellow alerts have been issued in several regions. Also, remember if you’re travelling to the North East region, it is better to take an umbrella to be on the safe side.

Monsoon Might Not Bring Down Heat Everywhere

You might expect the incoming monsoons will bring down the sweltering heat that’s prevalent in several regions in the country. But it’s not! This week, parts of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh will have high temperatures, up to 40 degrees. On the other hand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh are experiencing really cool weather. There can be rainfall as well as snow in some of the areas. Whereas, in Manali and Shimla, the weather is going to be a pleasant one within 11 degrees to 28 degrees. It is just the type the weather you need to escape the unbearable heat.

The Rains And Hills

Monsoon_1If you love rainfall and wish to spend some time within the vicinity of calming mountains, then head to Munnar or Coonoor to enjoy the weather for the weekend. Both the places are expected to have a temperature between 13 degrees to 22 degrees.

Have A Smart Plan For Your Rainy Vacation Spot

  • Don’t get bothered if you are not a rain person. Rather book a nice homestay, with a nice view and spend some quality time
  • Take a day off and enjoy some time at the spa. Carry board games or indoor games
  • Carry some insect repellents
  • Don’t forget to carry waterproof bags and if that’s not possible, make sure you put your gadgets in a proper ziplock bag. Carry comfortable slippers or shoes which don’t slip. Carry footwear which can be sturdy during your travel
  • And last but not the least, carry your umbrellas and raincoats
