The Dish

Haleem is a traditional dish from Saudi Arabia that consists of several special spices and pounded goat meat, mutton. To prepare this dish, it can take up to hours to get the balance of flavours right! And Majid Ji, owner of Pista House Haleem has hit the jackpot.

The Story Behind Pista House

Started on a small scale once in Hyderabad by selling Haleem,  today Pista House has become such a big brand all over the world. It all comes down to the owner’s hard work, Majid Ji. He left the textiles business, his original line of work, and started working in bakeries and restaurants instead so that he could understand the food business well.

He has faced many hardships and has gone through financial issues as well throughout his life. Majid Ji started a small stall in 1997 where he started Pista House. With his hand made spices and recipes, he made Hyderabadi Haleem so famous and that too at such a time when only 3 to 4 people used to make Haleem. Isn’t that so impressive?

His hard work has made Pista House reach such a stage that during the time of Ramadan itself, 40000 kgs of Haleem is made at 4 factories in Hyderabad and is supplied in and around the world like America, UAE, Qatar, Paris and very soon in China as well.

What’s More?

Inside these 4 factories, there is so much heat here with 8-10 bhattis. And during Ramazan, the workers are also fasting but it is to serve others and the joy that they find in cooking Haleem. I am sure there is so much love that goes in here which is why people love it so much. What do you think?

And even Our ex-Prime Minister Mr Atal Bihari Vajpayee was also a big fan of this Haleem and a lot of Bollywood & Tollywood heroes, politicians have all eaten Pista House’s Haleem.
