BEST Airport Express Connecting Mumbai’s Every Corner To City Airports
With a fleet of 42 buses, Chalo finally began operations in Mumbai on February 7. This service will connect both the International and Domestic airports to all corners of Mumbai, including Colaba in the south, Borivali in the north, Thane in the northeastern suburbs, and Kharghar in Navi Mumbai.
With comfort being at the core of this service, the Airport Express will reduce traffic congestion in the city. Chalo had earlier operated public trials of the service so far. Based on these trials and feedback, the service is now being launched on four routes officially. These include bus services from the airport to Colaba, Kharghar, Thane, and Borivali. The Airport Express service is likely to transform Mumbai’s airport commute with special emphasis on comfort and sustainability.
Fares, Frequency, Booking: Everything To Know About These Buses
Chalo has launched 42 buses for the BEST Airport Express service. About 50% of buses on the fleet are electric and they aim to make it 100% electric by March 2024. The Airport Express service operates every day from Monday to Sunday. The buses are scheduled to run at approximately 30-minute intervals in both directions, starting at 6.30 AM from the airport, with the last bus departing at 11.00 PM.
Passengers can find the Airport Express counters outside both the airport terminals from where they can book their tickets. They can also book confirmed seats via the BEST Chalo App or on the web portal here. The buses on this route will only stop on the way if a passenger has made a reservation to ensure faster travel with fewer stops.
