The Badrinath and Kedarnath temples in Uttarakhand are arguably the biggest, most popular places of worship in the country. Each year thousands of people make their way to this pilgrimage in order to fulfil their spiritual and religious aspirations. After close to six months of closure, the gates of the Kedarnath are all set to be open to the public from the 25th of April. Devotees will flock to the temples to pay their respects. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to register for the Chardham Yatra.

A Step-By-Step Guide To Register For Badrinath-Kedarnath Yatra

Step 1: Visit the official website of the Chardham yatra, i.e., www.registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in.

Step 2: Click on the ‘register’ button and fill out the form that appears before you.

Step 3: After the form is filled, the portal will then verify your application via an OTP sent to your mobile phone and email address.

Step 4: You will now have to log in using your mobile number and password.

Step 5: After your personalised dashboard appears on your screen, click on Add/Manage Pilgrims or Tourists.

Step 6: Fill out the details of your trip like date, tour name, type of yatra, number of tourists, etc.

Step 7: You will then receive a unique registration code on your mobile number.

Step 8: This code will then help you to download the registration letter for the Chardham Yatra.

So far, close to 1.5 lakh people have registered for the Chardham Yatra. As per the information on the website, the best time to visit this spiritual haven is between May to November. If you’re travelling by air, the best way to the Yatra is via the Jolly Grant Airport. It is about 235 km away from the Kedarnath Temple.

If you’re travelling by train, the best way is to take a train from Rishikesh to Gaurikund. The two stations are located at a distance of 243 km away from each other.
