Chefs To Attempt Setting Guinness Record For Longest Millet Dosa At The Upcoming World Food India Event

India has set many records when it comes to food. Now, it is all set to attempt any record in the category of food. With this year named as the “Year of Millets” by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, chefs are all set to attempt another food record. This record is to make the longest millet dosa at the upcoming World Food India event.

At the next World Food India festival in Delhi, there will be an effort to set a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest millet dosa. A millet dosa longer than a hundred feet will be made by a team of 60 to 80 chefs. This is according to an announcement from the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. 

Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Jal Shakti Prahlad Singh Patel briefed the media on the second edition of World Food India 2023 in New Delhi, stating that the event in India is an attempt to portray the sector’s potential before global stakeholders.

According to Minister Patel, more stakeholders are expected to sign on in the days leading up to the event. As of right now, exhibitors from 16 nations, 23 states, and 23 States and United Territories have agreed to participate in the event. The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) will host the second edition of World Food India 2023, a massive global food festival, at Pragati Maidan from November 3–5, 2023. Farewell Speech By President

On November 5, President Draupadi Murmu will deliver the farewell speech. 

Celebrity chef Ranveer Brar’s interactive food street is expected to draw large crowds of industry professionals and foodies alike. It will feature street food, food from India’s regal culinary legacy, and pavilions displaying regional cuisines from all around the nation. It will be spread across three zones and feature sustainable food, with a focus on millets.

A 50,000-tetra-pack installation of millet beverage containers will be made in honor of the International Year of Millets in 2023. It will be given to youngsters from underprivileged backgrounds. Cultural events, such as dance and music performances, will also be provided for the guests who will be staying for three days.

Over ₹75,000 Crore Investment

The Center said on Wednesday that over 75,000 crore in investment is anticipated to be drawn to the food processing industry. 

The international event was supposed to take place in 2017.  The COVID-19 epidemic prevented it from being planned in subsequent years.

The food processing industry in India offers numerous investment prospects, according to Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of State for Food Processing Industries. According to him, a few businesses have already committed to an indicative amount of money. This will be revealed at World Food India 2023.

He stated that the event is expected to draw 950 exhibitors and 75,000 attendees. About 16 countries, 23 state governments, 11 Union ministries, and central agencies will participate. 

He continued, saying that Japan and Vietnam will be the main focal countries. The Netherlands serving as a partner nation for World Food India 2023. (As Per ET Retail)
