Bengaluru has many iconic landmarks — Lal Bagh, Bengaluru Palace, Vidhana Soudha and Cubbon Park. The Silicon Valley of India will soon get India’s highest skydeck, a 250m-tall viewing tower to enjoy panoramic views of the city. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar shared a sneak peek of the proposed Skydeck project in Bengaluru on X. 

Bengaluru Gears Up To Get India’s Highest Skydeck

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Tuesday shared a sneak-peak of the proposed Skydeck project in Bengaluru. The plan, if implemented, will give India’s highest viewing tower, the minister said.
The proposal has been made by an Austrian company called Coop Himmelb(l)au, in association with World Design Organisation (WDO).

According to a report by Moneycontrol, Bengaluru is all set to get India’s highest viewing tower or skydeck. An Austrian company, Coop Himmelb(l)au, in association with the World Design Organisation (WDO) has made this proposal. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has taken to X to share a mesmerising video of the banyan tree-themed sky deck if built will become India’s highest viewing tower.

However, the location to build this proposed mega project is not yet decided. DK Shivakumar is also the Bengaluru Development Minister. He has asked the state officials to check the financial viability of this ambitious project. A suitable space of 8 to 10 acres is needed to build the viewing tower. Meanwhile, the Austrian company, Coop Himmelb(l)au has built stunning skyscrapers in Australia, South Korea, China, Europe, Russia, Japan and Europe.

The one-of-a-kind skydeck will have a unique banyan tree-inspired theme replete with hanging roots and flowers. As per a TOI report, the tower will have three parts – base, trunk and blossom. Apart from a gorgeous viewing spot, the skydeck will have restaurants, a sky garden, shopping area, theatre, shopping area and multiple recreational and entertainment facilities.

Netizens Want The Govt To Focus On Developing Infrastructure In The City

Coming to the video shared by DK Shivakumar on X (formerly Twitter) of the proposed skydeck, it’s a 2.11-minute clip showing a glimpse of the 250m tall engineering marvel. It’s enough to get Bengalureans excited about the upcoming project which also has a roller coaster, a wing catcher and solar panels at the top, making it energy-efficient.

Meanwhile, Netizens took to X to share their reactions and opinions about the upcoming Skydeck in Bengaluru. While many hailed the fact that the city will get a new landmark, they wished the authorities would rather work on improving roads and other infrastructure in the city. Especially fixing potholes and working on reducing traffic congestion, a menace in the city.
