A new day and a new incident of passengers creating disturbances on a flight!! A passenger flying with IndiGo made an attempt to open the emergency exit door of the flight. It happened in the early hours of September 20, 2023. This untoward incident took place on a flight on its way to Chennai from Delhi. What happened after the passenger made such a risky attempt? The man behind this attempt has been identified as Manikandan, according to a report by India Today. In the early hours of Wednesday, he tried to do something like this on IndiGo flight 6E 6341. He tried to open the emergency exit door cover just before taking off from the airport. The flight took off from the national capital last night and was flying to Chennai when the unexpected incident occurred. A passenger doing something like this indeed is a reason for concern for each and everyone on board. Gladly, the safety of the flight was not compromised, as mentioned in the statement issued by IndiGo.

In the statement, the IndiGo authorities acknowledged the in-flight situation and also apologised for it. The statement mentioned, “We regret any inconvenience caused to the other passengers”.

The Passenger Was handed To The CISF Officials

IndiGo also added in the statement that Manikandan “was declared unruly by the crew”, as per the Standard Operating Procedure. Also, the crew of the flight handed the unruly passenger to the local authorities after reaching the Chennai airport. The airline has already lodged a complaint in the police station after arriving at the Chennai airport. In an official letter, it also requested the officials of CISF to escort him to the police station. Investigation into this matter has started already.

Something very similar happened some months ago when an IndiGo passenger tried to open the emergency door while flying to Delhi from Hyderabad.
