It is the cherry blossom season in Japan when the iconic cherry trees bloom and cover the landscape with pink and white flowers. The menu at Akina is a standout feature featuring an extensive selection of traditional and modern Japanese dishes prepared with the freshest and highest quality of ingredients.
Indulging in traditional Japanese cuisine, the menu includes delicious summer foods that are light, refreshing, and perfect for the warm weather. Keeping that in mind, Akina celebrates the blooming of cherry blossoms with an all-new summer menu. Jesse Blake, the culinary director, has curated a new menu celebrating the vibrant, diverse local ingredients that are featured in Japanese summer dishes.

Some of the highlights include tostada, golden curry croquette with cottage cheese, curry potato, panko crumb, spinach cream, crab & pumpkin harumaki, spicy bean sprout salad, chashu chicken and more. There’s even a spectacularly crafted cocktail menu. Drinks like Baja Dragon feature the sweet and exotic flavours of dragon fruit, inspired by Mexican travels. Then, there are Yamitsuki Kiyuri with fresh cucumber, nutty sesame, and sweet pineapple, Nutty Indulgence infused with honeyed, earthy, smooth figs-matured-bourbon, vanilla sweet vermouth and more cocktails.
