Conman Posing As UAE Royal Staff & Duping Leela Palace Arrested From Bengaluru

A recent case of a conman that fled Leela Palace Hotel, Delhi went viral. The conman identified as MD Sharif fled the scene after staying at the property posing as a working staff of the Royal Family of Abu Dhabi. He went missing after the staff found the cheque he paid for bills worth Lakhs bounced. The good news is that he was arrested this week in Karnataka. MD Sharif Has Undue Bills Of Leela Palace Worth AED 1,04,326

A 41-year-old man who allegedly pretended to be a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family has been detained by the Delhi Police. Mohammed Sharif, the defendant, was taken into custody on January 19 in Bengaluru. The five-star hotel was where Sharif allegedly remained from August 1 to November 20 of last year before abruptly departing.

The man is accused of stealing silverware and other valuables from the hotel room, according to the police. The claim also includes that he owes the hotel more than AED 1,04,326. On Saturday, a case was filed against Sharif in response to the hotel management’s complaints. He defrauded the Leela Palace Hotel by living there for more than three months and then left without paying the bill.

Police discovered during the questioning Sharif’s impersonation of a high-ranking official of the United Arab Emirates government and his use of a bogus business card to check into the hotel. A UAE residence card was also provided by him.

He had made up his employment with the office of Sheikh Falah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, an Abu Dhabi royal, in order to deceive hotel workers. MD Sharif spent a few months in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, but he avoided doing business with the royals. We also found out that he has stayed in a few hotels in other towns.
