On 4 April, the UAE extended the National Sterilization for 24 hours, for a period of two weeks. Right after the news broke out, the Dubai Media office issued a set of rules for all residents. UAE urges all residents to stay indoors and head out only if absolutely essential. Only one person from each household is permitted to step out to fetch essentials. In addition, everyone leaving home must wear a mask and maintain safe distance.
The government also added that anyone violating the rules will face strict legal consequences. This is part of the efforts the UAE is taking to curb the spread of the virus. Residents can leave their home only for the following reasons:
Members of the public are allowed to go out for:
– Essential needs, such as buying food. Only one family member is permitted to leave the house.
– Buying medicines/getting medical assistance from healthcare service providers like hospitals, clinics and pharmacies
