Craving A Midnight Snack? Delhi Food Trucks To Stay Open Till 2 AM; 40 Spots Identified 

Come midnight, especially on weekends, we often crave midnight snacks. Venturing out at midnight for a quick plate of pani puri or a piping hot bowl of chowmein is going to be the new normal for Delhiites. Why? Well, Delhi is all set to work on its ambitious ‘Food Truck Policy’ where food trucks will be kept open till 2 AM and 40 spots are identified for the same.

Upcoming Delhi Food Trucks To Stay Open Till 2 AM

According to The Indian Express, Delhiites can gorge on delicious snacks at food trucks as late as 2 am. The Delhi government has fastened work on its ambitious ‘Food Truck Policy’. For which already 40 locations have been identified. The food trucks will be set up in phases. A senior Delhi government official stated that the first phase will witness food truck hubs opening at 10 to 15 locations.

This project aims to build Delhi’s night economy and create employment opportunities. The Food Truck Policy was proposed in the Rozgar budget in 2022, for which the government shall start 25 food trucks. An official stated to The Indian Express that their aim is to give food options to residents and tourists. Also, instead of individual food truck owners, licenses will be given to a firm to manage the lands where food trucks shall be set up.

Gastronomy Extravaganza For Delhiites

Delhiites can expect food trucks in the city near markets, residential areas and markets and even places like Dilli Haat which witness heavy footfalls. The official further added that NOC is a massive problem which often leads to delays. So, to avoid this NOC problem, 40 spots identified come under PWD, DJB and other departments.

At these food trucks, Delhiites can expect a variety of chaats, pani puri, Indo-Chinese delicacies and other hot meals. Eating at a food truck is not just about the food itself. It’s more to do with the experience. After all, food trucks often specialise in a certain cuisine and hot, fresh and crunchy, chatpata food is prepared right in front of you.
