For the first time, IRCTC is launching cruise services by signing up an agreement with Cordelia Cruises. Booking for these cruise services is starting from September 2021. Tourists can book their tickets for the month of October, November and December. Travellers can embark on a cruise journey from Mumbai to places like Goa, Diu, Lakshadweep and Kochi. Tickets can be booked on irctctourism.com, the official IRCTC tourism website.

Cruise Service To Come Up Between Old Goa And Panjim; Floating Jetty Inaugurated
The next time you visit India’s favourite beach destination, travel from Old Goa to Panjim via a cruise. On May 30, Goa a second concrete floating jetty was virtually inaugurated on the occasion of Goa statehood day. This jetty shall offer hassle-free connectivity from Old Goa to Panjim by ferry and cruise services. Earlier in February 2020, Goa launched its first floating jetty at Captain of Ports in Panjim. These floating jetties will further boost Goa’s already booming tourism sector.
Travel From Old Goa To Panjim In A New Floating Jetty In River Mandovi
Old Goa and Panjim shall soon be connected with the state’s second floating jetty, in River Mandovi. This was inaugurated by MoS (Independent Charge) for Ports, Shipping & Waterways Mansukh Mandaviya amid Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. The jetty boasts of providing hassle-free connectivity to Panjim from Old Goa via ferry and cruise services. Mandaviya tweeted “Virtually inaugurated ‘Concrete Floating Jetty’ at Old Goa in presence of Goa CM @DrPramodPSawant Ji and Shri @shripadynaik Ji today. Floating Jetties To Offer Hassle-Free Transportation To Tourists
Post-Statehood Day of Goa, the Union Minister, hoped that the connectivity of Old Goa and Panjim through cruises and ferries will act as a game-changer for the tourism sector. The Minister further elaborated that the jetty shall offer easy and safe transportation to tourists visiting Goa. The Government of India had approved setting two concrete floating jetties in Goa earlier. The jetties were built on River Mandovi to connect the two regions to make travel devoid of any hassles. Concrete jetties are quicker to build and easier to use. They have a life span of around 50 years. These floating structures can be reduced or increased in size as per requirements. So, they many advantages over fixed jetties. Meanwhile, until it’s safer to travel Goa, go on a virtual tour of the beach destination.
