With this in mind, we asked the women at Curly Tales what they actually crave during ‘that time of the month’. Honestly, everyone has their own way of satisfying period cravings. Periods can be harsh and might take a toll on us. Women manage homes, work responsibilities, and everything in between. There is one thing that can instantly lift our mood, and that is food. Drinks We Crave

Let’s be honest. Warm drinks are the first thing we reach for when cramps hit. Some people prefer chamomile tea or haldi wala doodh, but many of us have our favourite comfort drinks that make us happy.

We cannot forget hot chocolate. It is the go-to beverage for many. CT’s Senior Content Writer, Deeplata Garde, loves Blue Tokai’s Hot Chocolate for its rich, chocolate-y and creamy taste.

Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, loves relishing Pani Puris from Sindh Pani Puri in Chembur, Mumbai. Talking about her cravings, Kamiya Jani says, “My ultimate favourite dish is Pani Puri. As a Pani Puri fan, I have an unlimited appetite for it. During my periods, I crave for this snack prepared by my mom or instantly feel like heading to the 75-year-old Sindh Pani Puri for a nostalgic plate.”

2. Keema Garlic Bread: Joey’s Pizza

Sr. Executive Client Servicing, Yashvi Jain loves gorging on Keema Garlic Bread from Joey’s Pizza. It is quite famous for being loaded with cheese and toppings.

3. McDonald’s Comfort Food

Sub-Editor Tashika Tyagi loves McDonald’s. Its fries and the special McAloo Tikki burger are her go-to picks. She describes them as “simple, salty, familiar, and emotionally supportive in ways no supplement could ever be,” and honestly, we agree!

Comfort Meals That Pamper Us

Sometimes, only a proper meal can truly satiate period cravings. And the women at Curly Tales know exactly what they want, and from where they want it.

Our Chief Sub Editor, Sanjana Shenoy, loves the Rava Onion Dose from MTR. It is crispy, comforting, and you can never go wrong with a podi-filled dosa, topped with hot ghee.

Content Writer Mahi Adlakha can happily wolf down an entire tub of Chicken  Biryani that serves two to three people. And honestly, we can’t blame her. Because both biryani and period cravings know no bounds!

4. Ramyun: Mr K Ramyun

Sub-Editor (Middle East), Anupriya Mishra, loves to indulge in spicy food during her periods. She often reaches out for Ramyun from Mr K Ramyun in Delhi or makes it at home with chilli oil.

Sanjana Shenoy likes indulging in a spicy, cheesy and comforting bowl of Ema Datshi from Broth Station in Bengaluru. This soul-warming dish is perfect for the first two period days when cravings hit hard.

Tashika Tyagi loves the Double Chocolate Eclair from Big Chill Cakery. It is smooth, chocolatey, and indulgent. Eating chocolate desserts is considered one of the best ways to beat those cramps or at least get those happy hormones going!

2. Tiramisu: Maxim’s Bakery

Talking about me, even though I don’t have a big sweet tooth, a jar of tiramisu quickly lifts my mood. It is luscious and has the perfect hint of coffee. Apart from Tiramisu, the Chocolate Eclair and Pineapple Pastry are also must-try items from Maxim’s Bakery in Delhi.

3. Almond Butter Cookies: The Cinnamon Kitchen

Mallika Khurana is an ardent fan of the Almond Butter Cookies from The Cinnamon Kitchen. Apparently, she cannot stop at one, especially when she is PMSing.

4. Jar Cheesecake: Baked By Nini’s

Priyanshi Shah loves indulging in jar cheesecakes, which she finds extremely comforting. Honestly, jar cheesecakes are loved by everyone! Just hand us the jar, a spoon and leave us alone!

5. Mocha Ice Cream With Chocolate Sauce: Corner House Ice Cream

As a true Bengalurean, Sanjana Shenoy is undoubtedly a Corner House paglu! She enjoys a scoop of Mocha or Chocolate ice cream topped with the signature chocolate sauce when cravings strike.

Many women at Curly Tales also spoke about their love for dark chocolates, ice creams, home-cooked food like khichdi, dry fruits, and more during that time of the month. I personally love gorging on buttery croissants too!
