The iconic yellow taxis of Kolkata are in danger, just like the Royal Bengal Tiger. As a result, a yellow taxi decorated with tigers was flagged off at Victoria Memorial on Friday, the day before International Tiger Day. Only travellers who register with DigiYatra, the facial recognition technology-based paperless check-in and boarding service, are permitted admission into the domestic terminal through Gate 3. Flyers with and without DigiYatra have different entry channels at the other two gates, 1 and 2. DigiYatra usage has increased by 50 per cent since Gate 3 restrictions were put in place.
11. Minister Flags Off 4th Bharat Gaurav Kashi Yatra
The Karnataka government’s Muzrai Department has organised a special train service from Karnataka to Kashi. At the Yeshwanthpur train station, Muzrai Minister Ramalinga Reddy signalled the departure of the fourth train from Karnataka bound for Kashi. The Karnataka Bharat Gaurav Kashi Yatra train costs Rs 20,000 for a ticket, but the government is providing a Rs 5,000 subsidy to passengers.
