#CTExclusive: TV Star Roshni Chopra Lists Her Top 10 Things To Do In Dubai. Make Plans!

Dubai is adorned with many monikers – right from the wealthiest city in the Middle East to the Safest city for women travellers, to the best city for expats, and more, Dubai wins in all quarters. While there are many lists of Top things to do in Dubai, we caught up with Indian TV star Roshni Chopra to list down a specially curated list.

A well-known actor and presenter, Roshni has actually grown up in the city and finished her schooling in the emirate. She is making waves on social media in home decor, lifestyle and fashion space on the interweb.

In an email exchange, she quips, “There’s literally something for everyone in Dubai. Having grown up in the city and completed my schooling there I have a love for Dubai that keeps pulling me back and each time I find a new wonder!”

And, yes, Roshni Chopra has a curated list of the top 10 one just can’t miss in Dubai for Curly Tales readers!

Take a look!

1. Head to Old Dubai

Take a tour of the historic old Dubai and meet the old soul of this town before the glitzy makeovers happened. Get in the abra (small boats) and get time transported in the spice market, gold souk and the older very traditional part of Dubai!

2. Spend The Day On The Beach.

There are many beach clubs which rent out daybeds, and have a great vibe going! My favourite was KokoBay!

3. Go For A Picnic In The Dunes Or Dune Bashing

Try sandboarding, quad biking, and barbecuing. There are many companies that organise tours or you could just drive up yourself to one of the camping areas and catch the sunset while admiring the vast Arabian desert.

4. Have A Hammam Experience

A traditional hammam is the ultimate pampering. With ancient herb scrubs and a massage on heated stone, you literally come out looking and feeling a few shades brighter! My favourite is the spa at the One&Only Royal Mirage.

5. Habibi & Habibtis, You Gotta Shop

Dubai Mall can be intimidating but it literally has everything under the sun so reserve a day, look at the store directory beforehand, and be organised about getting what you need!

If you’re into window shopping then I much prefer Citywalk or the new Dubai Hills Malls. There you have lots of cute cafes to stop for some treats too.

6. Do Not Miss Eating…

You can’t miss the traditional hummus and falafel or shawarma and literally, every place gets this right in Dubai. Right from the smallest vendors to the fanciest restaurants, they all have it! But also some of my favourite places for a fancy meal are Rohen at The Arts Club Dubai and Le Petite Maison in DIFC.

7. Head To The Museum of the Future

The Museum of the Future is a wonder of architecture and is worth a visit for sure! Don’t forget to go till the end for that perfect Instagram photo opportunity!

8. Have A Day Trip And Drive Down To Fujairah

If you fancy a day of snorkelling/diving with turtles on Snoopy Island (Jazīrat al Ghubbah), then drive down there. I’d only suggest this if you are staying for more than 5 days and have had your fill of city experiences!

9. Cool It Down At Aquaventure Waterpark

It’s the perfect weather for a water park and you can’t not go! While there are many to choose from – Atlantis (Aquaventure Waterpark) is by far the biggest and most exciting for adults too! You can get day tickets to the park and if it’s your birthday you get free entry too!

10. Go Go Karting At Dubai Kartdrome

If you have a need for speed, it’s by far one of the best tracks I’ve seen and is just so much fun for any age group! They also have a laser tag area above which is super fun and very trippy and if you’re in a group of people this will be an experience to remember!
