Well-known industrialist and former Tata Sons chairman, Cyrus Mistry passed away at the age of 54. He was involved in a tragic car accident near Mumbai. Days after the accident, an old photograph resurfaced. In the photo, Mistry savours food with his driver. The picture went viral. Leaving netizens, remembering him for his humility.

An old photo of Cyrus Mistry enjoying dinner with his driver at a roadside dhaba went viral.  ‘Parsi Zoroastrians Worldwide – The Hyderabadi Page’ Facebook page posted this picture. In the photograph, the late industrialist sat cross-legged on a charpoy.  And relished his humble meal. The roadside eatery served simple Indian food on steel cutlery. Despite being a wealthy individual, Mistry was known for his down-to-earth demeanour.

He Loved Street Food & Road Trips

The former Tata Sons Chairman enjoyed going on road trips. Instead of air travel. He also adored Maharashtrian street food like vada pav and pav bhaji. His friend and former bureaucrat Ganesh Jagtap, revealed Mistry’s food and travel preferences to The Week. Jagtap and Cyrus Mistry often headed on road trips. They travelled across Maharashtra and Gujarat. During their getaways, they relished food at roadside eateries. What’s more? They bonded over chai. While Cyrus Mistry is no longer with us. The stories of his humility and down-to-earth nature will always live on.
