Delhi Metro Starts Services From 4 am On 31 Oct For Run For Unity Participants

Delhi metro announced that its services across all the lines will be available from 4 am onwards from 31st October. Run For Unity is the reason behind this announcement. The purpose of this event is to commemorate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary, which falls on October 31.

Delhi Metro Services Start Early Morning

We celebrate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on October 31. Delhi metro made an announcement on Twitter and Instagram. It said that on this day its services will have a frequency of 30 minutes on all the lines. The regular timetable will restart post 6 in the morning. The idea behind this initiative was to facilitate the participants who are taking part in the ‘Run For Unity’.

The services will run normally for the rest of the day. Metro had earlier also facilitated special services for all the people who went to watch the 3rd ODI between India and South Africa.

Grand Event On Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

The Centre planned a grand event to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The event organised on a large scale includes paramilitary forces across the country. Union Home Minister Amit Shah asked all the states to organise 75,000 unity runs. By 75,000 runs he meant each of the 750 districts of the country must organise 100 unity runs.

The number 75 is chosen keeping in mind India’s 75th year of Independence.  The event expects 8000 participants.  It will be flagged off at Delhi’s National Stadium. Alternate routes and diversions-related information was already announced by Delhi’s Traffic Police.
