Delhi commuters, this is important. Swami Narayan Marg will remain closed for road construction till August 3, 2026. Delhi Traffic Police have now issued a traffic advisory asking people to use alternate routes and plan their journeys in advance. So, if you travel on this road frequently, you need to know which alternate route to take.

Swami Narayan Marg In Delhi Is Undergoing Construction Work


Road construction work by PWD is underway on Delhi’s Swami Narayan Marg from Nand Lal Marg Red Light to Shastri Nagar Red Light. According to the traffic advisory shared on X by Delhi Traffic Police, the stretch will remain affected for 30 days, from July 3 to August 3. There will be 24/7 traffic diversions in place from July 4 to August 3.

Commuters are advised to avoid the affected stretch and use alternate routes to avoid getting stuck in traffic and wasting time. Traffic coming from Chowki No. 2 towards Shastri Nagar via Swami Narayan Marg will be diverted towards Nand Lal Marg and Veer Banda Bairagi Marg.

Commuters Advised To Plan Ahead & Stay Informed 

Delhi Traffic Police have also advised commuters to avoid travelling on Swami Narayan Marg between Nand Lal Marg Red Light and Shastri Nagar Red Light while the construction work is in progress. To avoid disruptions, people should plan their journey in advance and allow extra travel time to reach their destination.

It should be noted that traffic police personnel will be deployed at the site. You need to follow their directions and approach them if you face any problems during your commute. The traffic advisory also states that motorists are requested to remain patient and strictly follow all traffic rules for a smooth experience.
