Bridge On Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Collapses In Gujarat
In Gujarat’s Bharuch district, a section of a bridge on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway collapsed near Ankleshwar on July 2. This incident took place between Adol and Piludra villages and created a gap of about 7 to 8 feet in the bridge deck. Due to this, the iron rods inside the bridge can also be seen.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. As soon as officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) received the information, they quickly reached the site. The technical team is now inspecting the bridge to understand the cause of the collapse.

Why Was This Portion Opened?
The bridge collapse on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway occurred on the Kim-Bharuch (Package 5) stretch. This section was opened by the authorities on a trial basis earlier this year. It was expected to play a crucial role in reducing traffic congestion on National Highway 48. However, work on this stretch was still in progress.
On the same day, another concern related to an expressway came into focus. On the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, large potholes appeared on a road stretch near Shamli, beyond Baghpat. Videos of the damaged road soon went viral on social media, drawing people’s attention.
Such incidents related to expressways have raised concerns among people!
