Chaap is the holy grail of vegetarians, you know like paneer is. Unlike paneer, chaap is only this good in Delhi! Chaap is usually made out of soya, laden with creams and masala and marinated before cooking. It’s soft, high on flavour and works as a starter or a main depending on how much gravy you leave it in. North Indian restaurants recognize the importance having this one item in their menu. Few have built restaurants around this one item. Mitra Di Chaap is all about that irresistible chaap in every face and form. Mayur Vihar is blessed with this delicious outlet serving some of the best chaap in the city.
What is it
If you’ve been looking for more than malai chaap, we’ve got your back. Mitra Di Chaap has almost 20 kinds of chaap! Their stuffed chaap is the most unique. We haven’t found chaap stuffed to delicately anywhere else yet. Soya chaap is stuffed with chunks of paneer, both melt in your mouth with a burst of doubly flavourful spices. The stuffed chaap is very creamy and very very heavy. Generally, chaap is supposed to be a starter but, not this one. Their achari chaap is the crowd favourite and one of their most ordered items. It’s soft and spicy and fits every Dilliwali’s palette.

We loved their pudina chaap and garlic chaap too. They’re exactly what they sound like. Take the best chaap in the world and heighten the pudina or garlic touch and you’ll find yourselves at Mitra Di Chaap. They also have bahtti chaap, crispy chaap and orley chaap! Their price point is quite reasonable for the quantity they serve. The chaap starts and ₹70 and goes up to ₹90 for the half plates of starters. Their chaap methi malai is a very unique main course sabzi for ₹170 full plate and ₹100 half plate.

Mita Di Chaap is the perfect place for a real north Indian meal. This little local dhaba has a small seating for 10 but is mostly famous for delivery. They have the classic dal makhani and paneer butter masala. So, if by any chance the chaap leaves some room for main course, we say go for it head on!
