Delhi’s Revamped Central Vista Avenue Is All Set To Open On September 9

Delhi folks, the revamped Central Vista Avenue will be open for the public from September 9 (Friday) onwards. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Central Vista Avenue on September 8, 2022. The area has undergone immense developments. Central Vista Avenue has been redeveloped from new parking lots and broader footpaths to greener spaces.

Historic Rajpath & Central Vista Lawns Renamed

As the day of the inauguration of the Central Vista came nearer, the government announced that Rajpath would be renamed Kartaya Path. As per media reports, the entire stretch from Netaji statue to the Rashtrapati Bhavan will be known as Kartavya Path. The current government is renaming places that had colonial relations or were not exclusive to the culture of a particular area. This also implies on Rajpath, as during the colonial times, this location used to be called ‘Kingsway.’

About The Newly Developed Avenue

This redeveloped avenue is supposed to ease a lot of issues that existed earlier. Issues like traffic, non-pedestrian friendly walkways, public congestion and a lot of more were a cause of concern. After this redevelopment of the entire stretch, there are numerous benefits which can be foreseen. Starting from improved spacing for the national events, parking spaces for the public, better public facilities and beautification of the entire space has been done to make this location tourist worthy.

With tourism slowly picking pace around the world, such redevelopments will only better the experiences of visitors – both local & international.
