A dramatic moment unfolded at Orlando International Airport on Sunday, April 21, when a Delta Air Lines flight bound for Atlanta caught fire while taxiing on the runway. The aircraft, an Airbus A330, experienced a sudden engine fire shortly after pushing back from the gate. Thanks to the swift action of the crew and airport staff, all 294 people on board—including 282 passengers and 12 crew members—were safely evacuated using emergency slides.

According to AP News, passengers heard a loud popping sound and noticed smoke and flames emerging from one of the aircraft’s engines. Within moments, the pilots stopped the plane and ordered an emergency evacuation. Cabin crew members deployed the emergency slides, guiding passengers out of the aircraft calmly and professionally.

The airport’s fire and rescue services responded within minutes and managed to extinguish the fire before it could spread. Videos of the incident, now circulating online, show the aircraft surrounded by emergency vehicles while passengers are seen standing safely away from the aircraft.
