In the Sunday Brunch episode, Kamiya Jani visited Amritsar to meet chef Vikas Khanna’s entire family. She was excited to meet them, and during the interaction, his mother, Bindu Khanna, revealed that in her 80 years of life, this is the first time she has given an interview or had someone come to meet her like this.
While talking to Kamiya Jani, Vikas Khanna’s elder brother, Nishant Khanna, revealed that their mother was also a pilot, which truly surprised us. He also shared that she was the only woman car driver in Punjab, and recently she even took part in a car rally. How amazing is that! What surprised us the most was when she revealed that she still drives every day and would randomly say at 2 AM to drive to Delhi.

What Was On The Menu?
When the brunch is at Vikas Khanna’s home, you know it’s going to be special and very homely. On the menu, they had Chana Masala, Kadhi Wale Chawal, Rajma, Gulab Jamun, and Bhalle. It was a pure Punjabi meal, and the chef himself made us try the special matthi topped with imli chutney, chole, and onion. It was really delicious and can be enjoyed anytime: breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even evening snacks.
Then we noticed the chef adding chole on kulche, to which we asked what he was doing. He replied that people in Amritsar prepare double-fermented kulche, which is eaten with chole and more. This is the first thing the chef eats whenever he comes to Amritsar.
