Originally named “Alla Venezia Trionfante,” the café quickly became known simply as “Florian,” a nod to its visionary founder. Throughout its illustrious history, Caffè Florian has been more than just a place for coffee—it has been a sanctuary for the soul, a meeting ground for minds of all kinds.

Imagine sitting in any of the lavish rooms that were painstakingly restored in the middle of the 1800s and radiate the opulence of a bygone era. You are more than just a guest here. You are a part of the ongoing narrative that has taken place in front of these walls. From the rise and fall of the Serenissima Republic to the clandestine intrigues of revolutionaries, every sip of coffee carries with it the essence of Venice’s vibrant past.

Caffè Florian has always been a melting pot of society, where Venetian nobility rubbed shoulders with artists, merchants, and everyday citizens. Over the centuries, it has played host to luminaries such as Carlo Goldoni, Goethe, Casanova, Lord Byron, Marcel Proust, and Charles Dickens. Here, everyone finds a seat at the table, united by a shared appreciation for culture, conversation, and, of course, exceptional coffee.
