According to a news report by the Khaleej Times, Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has endorsed this plan. There might be a gradual shift from conventional street-hailing to e-hailing taxi services with 80% of the fleet adopting the latter service. This decision comes after the success of Hala, an e-hailing service which accounted for about 30% of all the trips in Dubai in the year 2022. According to Mattar Al Tayer, RTA Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, this step reinstates the government’s aim of transforming the Emirate into the world’s smartest city.

There’s no secret that e-hailing is an efficient means of calling a taxi as not only it’s hassle-free but also accounts for a higher percentage of trips with a short wait time for drivers. Moreover, customers also love the seamless in-app features, such as e-payment and optimal route selection. For this, RTA will allocate a dedicated fleet of taxis which will offer e-hailing services. Moreover, Halal will be responsible for the promotion of this service by creating new channels that will aim towards attracting more customers.

But, Is Book One Easy?

So, if you too are wondering about how to book a taxi app, then all you need to do is follow these steps –

  • A person has to download Careem App on their smartphone and set up a personal account. After this, they can choose Hala vehicles from the available options and confirm their pickup destination.
  • Once this is done, they will have to enter the details of the drop location and their preferred mode of payment. And then tap the Yalla button to finish the booking.
  • After this, they will receive a text message containing information about the driver and booking information will also follow after this.

E-hailing service is also a preferred mode of transport by many people for its range of services, which includes everything from secure bookings in less than a minute to even monitoring a journey in real-time.
