1. Shuttle Bus Service To Be Launched For Ramadan In Madinah

As announced by the SPA, Al Madinah Region Development Authority revealed that it will launch of a shuttle bus service. These would be at various stations during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH. Through the shuttle bus service, the movement of worshippers and visitors to and from the Prophet’s Mosque and Quba Mosque would be facilitated.

2. DP World Foundation Signs Agreement With United Nations World Food Programme

Recently, DP World Foundation signed an agreement with the United Nations World Food Programme. This would support home-grown school feeding in Ecuador, as revealed by the Dubai Media Office. And through the initiative, DP World Foundation will support 2,500 children in the Americas.

3. DEWA To Deploy World’s 1st AI Engineer

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority is expected to deploy the world’s first AI-powered virtual engineer. This is expected to take place in June 2026 and would mark a significant leap in utility management. This comes at a time when artificial intelligence is reshaping the global energy sector.

4. Date-Flavoured Products Campaign Launched

The SPA announced that the National Centre for Palms and Dates, Ahmed Al-Ayada, recently launched a promotional campaign. These would be to introduce date-flavoured products. The campaign aims to position dates as a premium local ingredient.

5. Sheikh Mohammed Announces Success Of World Government Summit

Emirates News, in its report, mentioned that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid has announced the successful conclusion of the World Government Summit. This is the largest edition yet, and he expressed his anticipation for an even bigger and better event next year.

6. Buildings Light Up For Sharjah Light Festival

As the Sharjah Light Festival was launched on Tuesday, this time it is being held under the theme of reflections of belonging. Taking place until February 15th, this has been organised by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority. The opening ceremony began with the national anthem, and the festival’s growth was highlighted. This is the 15th edition of the festival, and it serves as a platform for creators and artists. Especially, those who wish to present innovative light and interactive experiences along with extraordinary artworks and spectacular light shows.

7. Dubai Road Closures For UAE Tour Women 2026

Several road closures have been announced for the UAE Tour Women 2026. As a result, traffic was going to be impacted on multiple streets, as revealed by the Gulf News. This championship is taking place until February 8th, and according to the RTA update, the most significant disruption will be on February 6th. After all, cyclists will be racing from the Dubai Police Academy through to Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University.

8. King Abdulaziz International Airport Records Busiest Week

King Abdulaziz International Airport, which is in Jeddah, revealed its busiest week of 2026. Yes, starting January on a high note, the airport handled 5.45 million passengers. This represents a 7.3% rise compared to the same month in 2025. Moreover, flight operations also rose with 29,200 flights recorded during the month. This saw an increase of 11% year-on-year basis.

9. Kuwait Issues Ramadan Donation Rules

Kuwait has issued a comprehensive set of rules for collecting charitable donations. Yes, during Ramadan, people believe in undertaking charitable acts, and so it has placed firm limits on where and how fundraising activities may take place. As revealed by the Times of India, the Ministry of Social Affairs has issued a circular to the Board of Directors of Charitable Societies. This sets out detailed regulations for collecting donations during the holy month.

10. New Speed Limit Is Announced On 3 Major Roads In Abu Dhabi

From February 9th onwards, drivers will have to adhere to new speed limits on major roads in Abu Dhabi. Yes, as announced by the Abu Dhabi Transport Authority on Wednesday, the regulations for the reduction of speed on Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Road, Bani Yas Interchange up to the Bridge Complex and Al Rawdah Road, all in both directions.
