SpiceJet’s Jaipur-Dubai service have been delayed for nearly 13 hours through the night. Flight SG-5124, which was due to leave Jaipur International Airport at 6.55pm on Sunday, 25 October, will now depart at 7.35am on Monday, 26 October.

SpiceJet’s Jaipur-Dubai Flight Got Delayed By Nearly 13 Hours

The new departure time is 12 hours and 40 minutes later than planned. Travellers who expected to land in Dubai on Sunday evening will now begin their journey on Monday morning instead. SpiceJet has put the delay down to operational reasons and has not shared further details.

Not The First Disruption

This is not an isolated case on the route. SpiceJet’s flights between Jaipur and Dubai, in both directions, have run late in recent days. One earlier Jaipur-Dubai flight was reportedly delayed by as much as 23 hours. After those delays, passengers had urged the Central Government to act against the airline.

What Passengers Can Ask For

India’s aviation regulator, the DGCA, lays out passenger entitlements in its Civil Aviation Requirement on facilitation of passengers (Section 3, Series M, Part IV). In general terms, long delays mean the airline should provide meals and refreshments, along with a hotel stay and transfers when passengers face an overnight wait. Delays beyond six hours can also open up the option of a refund or an alternate flight. Rules differ in places for international flights, so it is worth confirming your own case with the airline.

What To Do If You Are Booked

  • Check your flight status on SpiceJet’s website or app before leaving for the airport.
  • Keep your boarding pass, ticket and any messages from the airline.
  • If you are at the airport, ask staff about meals and accommodation.
  • If you would rather not wait, ask about a refund or rebooking.
  • You are eligible to raise a complaint through the AirSewa portal if you don’t receive an explanation from the airlines.

Planning Around The Wait

If you have onward connections, hotel bookings or visa dates in Dubai, contact those providers early to let them know your arrival has moved. Travellers on this route would do well to keep some buffer in their schedules for now, given the recent run of delays.

For families and business travellers, a night lost at the airport can be costly. Anyone due to be met on arrival in Dubai should share the new timing with whoever is picking them up, and update any transfer or hotel booking at the other end.
