Chennai Metro Wins Award For Passenger Services
On October 24, 2026, Chennai Metro received an award for its excellent passenger services. Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) received the ‘Award of Excellence in Urban Transport’ in the category of ‘Metro Rail with the Best Passenger Services and Satisfaction’. The metro received the award at the valedictory session of the Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference in Odisha. The conference was organised by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
Ashish Chatterjee, Principal Secretary and Managing Director of CMRL, received the award from Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Odisha Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Krushna Chandra Mahapatra.
