Dubai’s Global Village Will Be Back This October

Given the current situation, most of us were contemplating if the Global Village will happen this year. The 25th season of Global Village is scheduled to run from October 2020 – April 2021. The exact dates are yet to be announced, but for now, shopaholics, you’re not mussing out on your favourite shopping fest! Meanwhile here are 15 Best Things We Love About Dubai.

The previous edition was closed earlier due to the outbreak of Covid-19. However, this year, the event is expecting over 7 million visitors for its silver jubilee edition. Registrations are now open for more than 2,000 opportunities to investors.

Khadija Khalifa, senior director commercial at Global Village said: “Registration is open and running. We open tenders in phases. We begin with the biggest projects then move on to restaurants and smaller categories. Within two weeks, we are opening our restaurants for tenders, and after that we will have kiosks and trollies, etc. We have opened more than 2,000 business opportunities for registration. The upcoming edition is silver jubilee and we want to make it big”.

Business enthusiasts can take advantage of the numerous pavilions, kiosks, restaurants, retail stores, guest services or entertainment outlets. The previous seasons have witnessed a 100% return on investment, enabling businesses to expand world wide. Entry ticket will remain unchanged at AED 15 per person for this year’s edition.

Global Village 2019

Last year, Global Village was to run until April 4, but the closure was advanced to 15 March due to the Covid pandemic. Besides, authorities also announced that unused tickets will be valid for the first month of the next season. Any balance on Wonder Passes can also be used in the first month of the new season.

Dubai’s Global Village Sets Unique World Record

Dubai’s Global Village set a world record in 2019, becoming the world’s first destination to get a five-star rating by the British Safety Council. The park completed the audit in January 2019. The council conducted an in-depth analysis of the park’s safety features, policies and procedures, after which a report was drafted. The analysis also included interviews with managers, stakeholders, employees and sampling of operational procedures. On that note, UAE Is Ranked Third Safest Country In The World.

The results were then measured against the council’s health and safety indicators. Global Village passed in the first attempt, setting yet another world record for Dubai. Besides, Global Village 2019 Was Declared The ‘World’s First 5G-Powered Entertainment Destination’.
