It’s that time of the year when Dubai is in its full glow! We’re not talking about the winter, but we’re referring to the region’s biggest shopping fest- The Global Village 2019. UAE’s favourite shopping mela has started in full swing and this time there’s a little something for all guests. This time around, guests visiting global village will enjoy better and faster connectivity, thanks to Du telecom’s 5G-Powered network.
What’s In It?
In order to make the experience more enjoyable, Du telecom has announced that it will enable Global Village as the world’s first 5G-Powered network destination. This will allow guests to enjoy fast data thereby enabling 4K and 8K video streaming, advanced gaming capabilities, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR) experiences.
Speaking about the new initiative chief technology officer of EITC Saleem AlBlooshi said: ““By introducing 5G capabilities to Global Village, the latest edition of this event will empower guests to achieve new possibilities and create endless memories as advanced connectivity transforms the Global Village experience dividend”.
The fifth generation network was first introduced in Burj Khalifa earlier this year.
Meanwhile, if you’re visiting Global Village 2019, you don’t have to worry about the commute. RTA has signed a deal with global village, offering guests exclusive taxi services to and from the destination. Better yet, the taxis are cheaper than the regular RTA taxis.
As for the fleet, you can expect nothing but family taxis, limos, Amira limos, convertible limos, and limo bikes will also be available. Talk about traveling in style! You can pre-book the taxi using the DTC app. Once the taxi arrives, riders will be taken to the assembly points via buses, from where they can board their respective taxis.
The new initiative is an effort to improve traveler’s experience and make improve journey times.
What Else?
Meanwhile, this season, Global Village has more than 3500 outlets. These outlets bring in local flavors from across 80 countries. Now that’s one world tour you can have right in Dubai. And how many pavilions will you get to see? Well, this time Global Village will be hosting 25 countries in their pavilions.
In addition, this year the region’s first Ripley’s Believe it or not, the museum is coming to Global Village. So gear up to witness all kinds of astonishing sights in the museum. From pop culture creations to uniquely crafted artifacts, this is going to be a great visual experience. So expect to see the world’s first wooden Ferrari here! Are cars not your thing? Then spot the iron meteorite- there’s enough for the nerds and the pop culture geeks!
