1. Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Welcomes Over 6.5 M Visitors
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi welcomed over 6.5 million visitors in 2024. This figure was reported by state news agency WAM show. The figures mark a 20% increase in the year-on-year visitation numbers. This is not surprising, as the mosque is known for its grandeur and peaceful vibes.
2. Emirates To Add Retrofitted Boeing 777 On Dubai-Riyadh Route

Emirates recently revealed that it plans to introduce the newly retrofitted Boeing 777 on the Dubai and Riyadh routes. Yes, this will be introduced on its third and second daily flights on this route starting from March 30 and May 7 respectively. As a result, it will serve the kingdom’s capital and it will thereby become one of the first destinations in the Middle East to be served exclusively by its latest retrofitted aircraft.
3. DXB Distributes 60000 Iftar Boxes

This Ramadan, Dubai International Airport distributed 60,000 Iftar boxes. This was across all terminals and in line with the UAE ‘Year Of Community’. It was indeed a truly noble initiative for people travelling during the holy month, especially during the Iftar times.

4. Red Alert For Fog Issued For Some Parts

Parts of the UAE have been covered by what is being called ‘monster fog’. Yes, as a result, the NCM has issued red and yellow alerts for some parts of the UAE. Moreover, residents have also been warned of reduced visibility in such areas and to drive cautiously when on the roads.
5. Etihad Airways Adds Third Daily Flights To Moscow
Etihad Airways reveals that it is adding a third daily flight on its Abu Dhabi and Moscow routes. Yes, this will increase the service to 21 flights per week and Airbus A320 aircraft will be used for operating these flights. Additionally, the airline will also begin flight services for Sochi from 29 May, which is a premier resort destination in Russia.
