On September 11, the natural disaster hit the affected area at around 1:29 AM, as stated by the National Center for Seismology. It was an earthquake of magnitude 4.4 on the Richter scale. Taking to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the National Center for Seismology (@NCS_Earthquake) shared all the necessary details about the quake striking the Bay of Bengal in the wee hours of Monday.

  • It was exactly 01:29:06 IST when the natural disaster hit the Bay of Bengal.
  • The 4.4 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale was detected at a depth of 70 km below the Earth’s surface.
  • The National Center for Seismology (@NCS_Earthquake) shared on the X platform that the epicentre of the quake was reported at 9.75 Latitude and 84.12 Longitude.

National Center for Seismology reported about an earthquake on September 9 in Assam’s Barpeta. Here’s all the information about the natural disaster hitting Assam.

  • The tremors of this natural disaster of magnitude 3.2 jolted at the Barpeta town at 04:20:15 IST.
  • The National Center for Seismology (@NCS_Earthquake) stated that the epicentre was 26.11 Latitude, 90.97 Longitude, and 24 km deep below the earth’s surface.

On Saturday there was yet another quake in the Northeastern part of India and the second one was at Tripura. Taking to the X platform, the National Center for Seismology (@NCS_Earthquake) shared details.

  • This earthquake hit the Indian state at 15:48:31 IST on September 9.
  • The magnitude was 4.4 on the Richter scale.
  • The region where the quake jolted was 72 km NE of Dharmanagar town in Tripura.
  • The tremors hit at a latitude of 24.76 and a longitude of 92.74. The depth of the quake hitting below the earth’s surface was 43 km deep.

From September 9 to the wee hours of September 11, India witnessed a total of three earthquakes hitting 3 different locations.
