Austria Offers Free Rail Travel In Exchange For Permanent Tattoos
Leonore Gewesseler, Austria’s climate minister is promising free rail travel in the country to people who get a permanent tattoo of the nation’s new single ticket railcard. Austria often hosts a slew of happening festivals. So, this initiative is likely to interest festival goers who often catch trains to these events.
In a bid to promote sustainable tourism, Leonore Gewesseler has announced to offer free rail travel in Austria to people who get a permanent tattoo that reads “Klimaticket” (which means “climate ticket”). Here, people who get this climate ticket tattoo can enjoy free train travel across Austria to select festivals for an entire year.

Travel Hassle-Free To Festivals Across The Nation
So how does this initiative work? According to Euronews reports, people heading to different events in summer like the Salzburg’s Electric Love Festival can get tattoos done on the spot. If they get a “Klimaticket” tattoo on the spot, they get a year-long travel prize. Officials behind the campaign revealed to Euronews that till now 6 people have got this permanent tattoo and received year-long free rail travel across Austria.

Apart from the “Klimaticket” tattoo people can also get other tattoos done like climate change, public transport and sustainability designs. They put out an Instagram post that states all the eligible tattoos. While only the first three people at the event would get this benefit, this has been extended to others as well.

Also, keep in mind that only people above the age group of 18 years can get these permanent tattoos done during the daytime to ensure they are not in an inebriated state.
