Delhi’s AQI is on a hazardous level. The masks are back on and with the winter season knocking on the door, smog is on the rise. Nature is the real air purifier and the following are some of the forests near Delhi which you can escape to and breathe in some good air. Your lungs will thank you!

Breathe Some Fresh Air At These 5 Lush Green Forests Near Delhi 

1. Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary

Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary is a rich biodiversity that you should definitely head over to near the Haryana and Delhi border. You get to experience a rocky terrain and a water body as well. It is located at the northern tip of the Aravalli Range. You can plan a perfect picnic with your buddies and pick a place near five of its hidden lakes. If you are interested in wildlife photography, this forest near Delhi will fill your photo album with beautiful flora and fauna.

2. Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary

If you like to birdwatch, then this forest near Delhi should be your pick for the day. This sanctuary is flocked by different varieties of birds, so do observe their activities. The natural sounds never go out of style and it will be music to your ears here. Spot as many birds as you can like pretty pink flamingos, Siberian cranes, common teal, black-winged stilt, yellow wagtail, and more.

3. Aravalli Biodiversity Park

You can take a trail at this park in Gurgaon. They have areas where the authorities do land vegetation. It has over 300 different varieties of native plants! Many native birds house at this park and it has around 185 species of birds. Be aware on your trails though because this park has golden jackals, Indian grey mongoose, nilgai, and more. You can even shop some plants from their nurseries as well.

4. Mangar Bani Forest

This forest near Delhi is located near the village of Mangar, hence the name. It is the lushest during the monsoon season and you will be in awe of this beauty. Even during the rainy season, beautiful birds and colourful butterflies will roam around you. During winter, it loses most of its lushness after the autumn season but you still can visit this place and enjoy it with your family. You can even spot some mammals basking in the sun during winters

5. Damdama Lake

This place is popular for its lake but you won’t regret coming here for a fresh breather. You can do rock climbing and boating and have a nice little picnic spot with your family. It is surrounded by lush greenery and more so during the monsoon seasons. If you get lucky then you may even get an ariel view of the place by taking a hot air balloon. The calm water will surely make you want to paint this scenery.
