Eurowings Makes Key Changes In Boarding From April; Will Allow Priority Boarding For Parents

Eurowings is set to introduce a new boarding concept from April 3, 2025. It aims to enhance the boarding experience for passengers. The German airline, part of the Lufthansa Group, will implement a three-group boarding system based on customer feedback. This will replace the current two-group model.

Eurowings’ new boarding concept will take effect on April 3, 2025, with a focus on improving efficiency and customer satisfaction. The most significant change is the introduction of three distinct boarding groups instead of two. This will allow a more organised and streamlined boarding process. Passengers with small children will benefit from priority boarding, reducing stress for families.

The current system will remain operational until April 1, 2025, with April 2 designated as a transition day for implementing technical and organisational changes at airports. The updated procedure will apply to all Eurowings flights from April 3, 2025 onwards.

The change comes after extensive feedback from Eurowings customers, who expressed a desire for a more optimised boarding process. As part of the Lufthansa Group, Eurowings aims to position itself as a value airline that prioritises flexibility and customer satisfaction.

The three-group system will categorise passengers based on the fare booked, offering a more tailored experience. This change aligns with the airline’s goal to enhance comfort and efficiency, making air travel more pleasant for passengers. Travellers who book premium fares will be prioritised in boarding, followed by those who book standard fares, while economy passengers will be in the third group. This structured approach is expected to reduce congestion and confusion during boarding.
