FIFA World Cup 2026 is keeping football fans on the edge of their seats, eager to know which team will lift the trophy this year. Interestingly, the enthusiasm among Indian football fans is on a completely different level. As the FIFA World Cup continues, more Indian travellers are planning international trips around the tournament. Booking trends from travel platforms EaseMyTrip and Pickyourtrail reveal which Indian cities are driving this travel demand. Read on to know more! 

How Are Indians Travelling For The FIFA World Cup 2025? 

Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai remain the top cities from which Indians are travelling for the FIFA World Cup. Not just these major cities, there is also a rise in travellers from Ahmedabad and Indore.

This year, one surprising trend is the increase in travellers from Tier-II cities. As per EaseMyTrip, people from Ahmedabad are showing a lot of interest in international sporting events such as the FIFA World Cup. Meanwhile, Mumbai has emerged as the top city for FIFA World Cup travel from India.

Many football fans from the city are not just flying in to watch matches and return. Instead, they are turning the tournament into a full-fledged North American vacation. They are exploring different cities across the US, Canada and Mexico while enjoying the football action.

How Long Are FIFA World Cup Trips 

According to Pickyourtrail, most itineraries range from eight to 12 days. People are travelling to cities like Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, Seattle, Miami, Toronto and Mexico City. Many of them are also extending their trips to Las Vegas, Orlando, Niagara Falls, Vancouver, Cancun, Tulum and Hawaii.

Delhi has witnessed strong travel demand, especially for knockout matches. Indian travellers are planning their trips much earlier than before. Most bookings were made four to five months in advance. While planning their trips, travellers are keeping visa processing times, expensive flight tickets and limited hotel availability in mind.

In Bengaluru, many couples and groups of friends are planning trips that combine football matches with cultural experiences and sightseeing.

The average cost of a trip ranges from ₹2.5 lakh to ₹10 lakh, depending on the number of matches attended, accommodation preferences, destinations covered and the overall trip duration.
