Travelling from Changi Airport one of the best airports in the world will get costlier. The Singapore airport has announced an increase in departure fees. So, passengers flying out of Changi airport will need to pay ₹3000 as fees from November 1. Here’s everything you need to know.

Changi Airport Charges ₹3000 From Outbound Passengers

The Changi Airport Group (CAG) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) made an announcement to the displeasure of outbound passengers. Starting November 1, passengers flying from Changi airport will need to pay a departure fee of ₹3000.

The fees will be used for airport maintenance purposes. The fee break-up is as follows — it includes ₹2000 for passenger service, ₹345 for aviation tax and the balance, ₹610 for airport development purposes.

Not Applicable For These Passengers

The price hike is applicable from November 1, 2022, and will be effective till March 2023. In fact, the increase in departure fees was in talks even before the COVID-19 pandemic. Singapore wanted to increase the departure fee in 2018 itself. But the Covid-19 pandemic led to a change in plans.

Meanwhile, do note that passengers who have booked tickets from Changi Airport before November 1, don’t need to pay the new departure fees. Transit passengers can continue paying the same departure fee of ₹507.
