Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that 75 ‘Vande Bharat’ trains will connect different parts of India in 75 weeks to mark the ongoing ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The Indian Railways plans to roll out 10 new indigenous semi-high speed Vande Bharat trains by August 2022. According to reports, these trains will be connecting around 40 cities by that time. Vande Bharat trains are self-designed, semi-high speed train sets, which take a shorter time to complete journeys as compared to Shatabdi and Rajdhani trains. The government is reportedly planning to eventually add 100 Vande Bharat trains and is working towards adding a maximum number of such trains by 2024.

The Indian Railways is leaving no stone unturned in making the Vande Bharat Express the best mode of transportation for the Indian public. The Train Will Be Faster Than Rajdhani & Shatabdi

While travelers making a trip from New Delhi to Varanasi in the official class will be charged Rs 399 for morning tea, breakfast and lunch, travellers in the seat vehicle should pay Rs 344 for the equivalent. Those making a trip from New Delhi to Kanpur and Prayagraj should pay Rs 155 and Rs 122 for official class and seat vehicle, individually.

From Varanasi to New Delhi, the travelers will be charged Rs 349 and Rs 288 in the official class and seat, separately. They will be served night tea with bites and supper. Vande Bharat Express will take eight hours to travel from Delhi to Varanasi, halting at only two stations on its route- Kanpur and Prayagraj.
